Chinmaya Mission’s world-famous Residential Vedanta Course will be conducted outside of India for the third time at the Chinmaya Mission Trinidad & Tobago (CMTT) Ashram in October 2025. The course is a two-year intensive study of the Upanishads, Bhagavad Geeta and other Vedantic texts in English. The residential Aachaarya (teacher) of the course is the Ashram’s Swami Prakshanandji.

A public poster on the Mission’s social media platform noted that applications for the course are opened to “unmarried, unengaged and uncommitted men and women with a sincere interest in the study of Vedanta” from Latin America and the Caribbean. Applicants must be under the age of thirty and must hold at minimum an undergraduate degree. According to the invitation, accommodation, food, clothes, books and medical care will be provided free of cost by the Ashram. Upon completion of study, students may opt to serve the Mission or pursue their own goals.

The first Residential Vedanta Course was conducted by Pujya Swami Chinmayanandaji in 1963 when he established Sandeepany Sadhanalaya (Vedanta Institute) in Mumbai. Since then, the institute has trained hundreds of students from across the globe, many of whom became fulltime Brahmachris and Brahmachaarinis and subsequently initiated into Sannyasa becoming Swamis and Swaminis serving the Mission Centres globally.
