Sri Krishna: The Miracle Worker
Accounts relate that among His acts was the performance of miracles – right from His very ‘birth’. He ‘appeared’ at the time of “birth” in the transcendent four-armed form and then immediately assumed the form of a human child; showed Mother Yashoda a glimpse of the entire cosmos within the cavity of His mouth; brought into existence ‘new’ cowherd boys and calves (which had been stolen); appeared before Akroora in the same Form simultaneously within the waters of the Yamuna river and as seated in the chariot on the road; destroyed as a matter of His Divine mission Kamsa and Chaanoora and other evil persons; recalled from the other world the deceased child of His Teacher, as well as those of Mother Devaki; healed the sick and fed the hungry; increased small quantities of food to feed multitudes; assumed as many forms as there were Gopis and be in company with each, simultaneously; caused Draupadi’s garment to extend to an indefinite length on her seeking His protection, even mentally; appeared suddenly before Draupadi when she thought of Him through helplessness in connection with the act of entertaining the irascible Durvasa in the forest; appeared in His Universal Form before the Kauravas assembled in court; showed Arjuna both His Universal as well as His four-armed Form in the course of His exposition of the Bhagavad-gita; gave life to the still-born Parkshit; during the Ashvamedha Yajna, suddenly appeared from Dwaraka (a hundred miles away) at night on the Pandavas thinking of Him. These and other supernatural acts definitely prove His Divinity.
