The Guyana Pandits Mission will be hosting a grand post Hanumaan Jayanti Celebration on April 13th, 2025 at the LBI Community Centre Ground. The event is expected to attract a large gathering of Hindus from across the country, continuing the spirit of the celebration which will be held at each mandir on April 12. The programme is slated to commence at 17:00hrs and will feature presentations from local Pandits, Hanumaan Chaleesa Chanting, Keertan and Havan. The event is free and is open to all Hindus, mandirs and Hindu organizations.
The Guyana Pandits Mission (GPM) is a growing association of Pandits in Guyana and is open for membership to all Pandits. According to the Mission in a released presser, “the primary objective is to propagate the glorious Hindu Culture and Way-of-Life on a unified front”.
Sri Hanumaan Jayanti commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Hanumaan. Santanee Hindus hold Sri Hanumaanji as the truest ideal for spiritual growth and an exemplar of the higher love and devotion to Lord Sri Raama. His glories are chronicled in the Sundarkanda of Tulsidasa Ramayana also referred to as the Ramacharitamanas and are summarized in the popular Hanumaan Chaaleesa.
Hanumaanji is an epitome of strength, wisdom and devotion. He is Raamadoota—the ambassador of Lord Raama and Seetashooka Vinaashaya—the remover of the suffering of Mother Seeta. He demonstrated in his life the way of Selfless Action (Karma Yoga); the path of Self Knowledge (Jnana Yoga); and the ideal of true Devotion (Bhakti Yoga).
